This is my first Men’s Fashion piece. Today, I’ll be writing a post on wearing ties. So, if you’re the kind of man who is usually a bit “tied up,” I highly urge you to keep reading.

You and I both know that there will come a point in your life when you need to attend a formal function. So, when that time comes, you will most likely need to wear a tie to seem more official.

However, as you are aware, there are several sorts of ties that you may wear. As a result, I’ll be teaching you today how to pick the correct sort of tie for the right kind of occasion. You should understand the basics of a tie before we move on to the specifics.

What Defines a Tie

A tie is anything that a person wears around his or her neck (just stating the obvious). A tie, in my view, is what you can use to improve one’s “classiness,” making him/her seem wiser.

That is why, whenever you watch a politician delivering a speech, you will notice that he is always wearing a tie around his neck.

Why?? It is because the individual wants to give the appearance that he or she is intelligent. Also, this is particularly true for political campaigns or elections.

It is the time when they will always be dressed in a tie to seem more professional and trustworthy.

However, you will notice that there are several types of ties that people wear. So, of course, if you want to seem more fashionably distinct from others, you can tie your ties in various ways.

Thus, as you continue reading, I will show you the various methods you may wear and tie a tie.

Styles of Ties

Now that we know what we want to accomplish by the conclusion of this piece, it’s time to start “cranking.”

  1. Traditional

Let’s begin with the conventional tie, sometimes known as the “fat” tie. It’s the sort of tie that becomes wider as you get closer to the bottom.

These kinds of ties are what I refer to as traditional ties. It is because they were in use by people for, I don’t know how long and are still worn now.

However, the word traditional is simply in use since it goes back so far.

But this does not imply that it is “uncool” or anything, as many teens use it in the present day. Such ties are especially popular to wear when attending any formal events or anything serious.

Due to the fact that it conveys a sense of class and makes one believe that the wearer is experienced and knowledgeable, just like most of these people.

Subconsciously, recognize people wearing such ties as experienced and knowledgeable because most of their teachers wear them, most of their professors wear them, and many bosses wear them.

That is why, when you wear such a tie, people will automatically see you as experienced and educated in their subconscious before you ever utter a word.

As a result, it is a highly popular kind of tie to wear to formal and serious occasions since it gives people a favorable initial impression of you.

  1. A Thin Tie

The second kind of tie is what I refer to as a “thin” tie since it has a very sophisticated appearance and therefore has the propensity to make a person seem more stylish and contemporary.

The slim tie gets its name from the fact that it is slender when it approaches the bottom of the tie.

These types of ties are relatively new to society. Thus, they are not a very popular form of a tie in current society. But I think that in time, this style of the tie will have its own distinct name.

Despite this, some individuals wear it. But those that wear it are usually persons in their twenties, teens, or designers. It is because it gives the idea that the person wearing it is stylish and trendy.

If you look closely, you will see that persons who wear such ties are usually people who are confident and willing to take risks. Why?? Because these types of ties are relatively new to society, not many people wear them.

Also, if you do, chances are you like doing things that other people would not do. As a result, if you want to do something that most people will not consider wearing such a tie.

  1. Bow Ties

Last but not least, the Bow Tie is usually what you can see in a classic James Bond film. He makes a great style while wearing this tie.

Essentially, the bow tie provides a stylish and solid appearance. I don’t have much to say about Bow Ties, but what I do have to say is that unless you want to be the next James Bond, Bow Ties are not the correct sort of ties to wear to work.

A fancy party or even a wedding are both great occasions to wear it. Wear it to a casual occasion, such as a friend’s birthday party. You decide what to do; I simply suggest, not mandate.

With everything out of the way, let’s get into how to tie a tie. Originally, there was only one way to tie a tie. Moreover, that was because the only reason to wear ties was so that they wouldn’t fall off your neck.

In modern society, however, ties you wear not just to secure them on the neck but also to create patterns.

Let’s begin with the steps of tying a bow tie. I began with this since I only know one method to tie a bow tie, so I’m using it as a jumping-off point.

I always have my cigarette boxes when wearing a bow tie as they add more style to my personality.

In a Nutshell

Let us now go on to tying the second kind of tie. A tie can be tied in several ways, ranging from the most basic to the trendiest.

Please keep in mind that none of these techniques is required, and you are under no obligation to use them. With that stated, here is a simple way for tying a bow tie.
