In case if you are using the desktop version of Discord, open the settings by clicking on the setting symbol on the bottom left corner of your screen. It will direct you to the setting page where several user settings are given as username, email, password, number, and a lot more.

You can alter your avatar by clicking on the three dots icon. Immediately after clicking on it, it will give you two options: ‘Remove Avatar’ or ‘Change Avatar.’ You can get the default avatar by removing your previous avatar. You can also customize your avatar. After changing your avatar, save your settings by clicking on the save button that appears at the bottom of the screen.

At your Android app:

If you are using Discord on your android device and want to change your avatar, you need to follow these simple steps. When you open your app, you will notice a bar at the bottom of the app which contains five symbols from extreme left to the extreme right – the discord logo.

To change your avatar, click on it, and this will open user settings for you with options like ‘Set Status’ and ‘My Account.’ Click on the ‘My Account,’ and you will be directed to your account page. Your current avatar will appear here, and there will be an option as ‘Remove Icon’ written in blue color. Click on it, and you will get your default avatar back.

You can easily change your avatar to any customized avatar by clicking on your default avatar and changing the avatar option. Also, you can go back to the default avatar quickly, as mentioned above.
